The time had finally come for Michael Jordan to retire. His signature shoes to mark this occasion, the Air Jordan XX, were covered in laser etchings that transcribed the events and people in his life that shaped him into the greatest athlete of all time.

Jordan carried himself every moment as a warrior ready to do battle. This combined with tattoo/scarification like laser markings on the shoes reminded me of the face and body tattoos of the Maori. We covered Jordan entirely with the icons, even his face, hands and feet as these, along with his shoes, where his weapons of choice.
